Most of Sierra’s customer-service experience came from the fitness industry, where she learned firsthand that no amount of training can prepare you for the things people will say and do when they think they’re always right. Along the way, she also worked in food service, construction, medspas, and other industries that filled the mental filing cabinet she calls #WARk stories.
Today Sierra creates and hosts Look, I Just Work Here, a storytelling podcast dedicated to the people behind the name tags and uniforms—and the hilarious, horrifying, awkward, and unbelievable customer encounters they endured.
Why this show exists
The show gives service workers a place to laugh about workplace chaos, hear that they are not alone, and share the stories that usually stay inside the group chat. Sierra combines her own experiences with stories from listeners and candid conversations with guests.
